Blake Griffin is an amazing athlete and all, but when it comes to dunking, yes he has power to get to the board, but for the dunk contest? He has no finesse or style as you would get from Vince Carter or Kobe, just power, and people now a days forget about that, that’s why Javale McGee or even Ibaka should of got it last year, sorry but it’s the truth

Kobe Bryant & Michael Jordan

Honestly, we all know Kobe doesn’t have as great as numbers MJ when it comes to MVP’s, how many rings (but just one away!), how many each 40 point games they have, etc. The only thing Kobe passed MJ in the record books that’s visible to the naked eye is that Kobe dropped 81. I love sports more than anybody, and when it comes to friends, I honestly think I look into the game more than the sport itself. Yes I am a Lakers fan, and no Kobe is not my favorite player, but he is still one of my more favorite players. Reason why I’m ranting is because people are still hating how Kobe isn’t as good MJ when MJ said himself Kobe deserves to be compared to himself. Number wise, he’s not….yet, or maybe. But when it comes to basketball IQ, mentality, motivation, how much each person studied the game, how much motivation they get from losses or disappointment, from beginning of their career to now, how much they worked on their game to be better for their team, they are pretty much exactly alike. People say Kobe can’t be like MJ, well of course he can’t, but HE CAN LEARN from MJ, as Kobe says he has learned from a lot of the past greats, as what MJ did himself too back in the day.

When you look at it, back in MJ’s era, it wasn’t really a big man era. There were some of course such as Kareem, Karl Malone, David Robinson, and so on. Yes, most of them were the face of their franchise, but on the Bulls, who was their big man? Luc Longley, Perdue, Grant, which none of them were completely out of this world. Kobe had Shaq. Shaq was a complete phenomenon, from high school, to LSU, to the Magics, to the Lakers. The biggest man in the NBA that can move from end to end and make moves in the post and score at will. That’s who Kobe had. So now you wonder why Kobe doesn’t have as much MVP’s? Shaq. Jordan of course had Pippen, but Pippen knew that MJ was much more of a scorer than he was. Kobe and Shaq on the other hand, both wanted the ball. None of them stepped aside, as Shaq explained himself on TNT the other day. Shaq would get his end of the game, then when he got doubled up, then gave his end to Kobe. So in a sense, Shaq was the face of the franchise at the time.

Sorry if my rant kinda went off, but seriously, there’s no reason to bash on Kobe, if Kobe was in MJ’s shoes and MJ was on Kobe’s right now, it would be the same debate.

No Worries…

I should really use Tumblr a bit more, for the actual reasons for what it was made for, to blog. Not saying I don’t love seeing all these pictures and stuff, I mean they’re funny, it’s just I don’t know…I really shouldn’t use twitter to vent, maybe I was just starving for attention…it’s whatever though. You what I miss the most though? The personalities I wish my “old” friends back in high school still had. Now that we’re all out of high school and stuff, it just seemed like all of our flaws came out even more than when we were in high school. Not necessarily “old” friends, I mean they are still my friends and some my best friends, but now I get to thinking…maybe I should leave all that behind right? I mean I’m the type of guy who loves to see things in every situation, tries to be calm with everyone that doesn’t make it fuss about everything, but just to chill and have fun with all my friends. But now, it’s like all of them want me to hate them, or they want me to know that they have moved on too and now I’m just a friend that just moved away from my hometown and my best friends became even more best friends within themselves with me out of the picture. I mean I shouldn’t be mad, but wouldn’t you think being best friends they’re always suppose to be there for you? I mean no offense to ladies, you guys on average change best friends. I mean I’m a dude, you’re always suppose to have your best buds, right? It’s whatever…I don’t want to say much because I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, like they have mine, even though they probably didn’t intend to, I just can’t worry about this….just can’t, it’s so small, but when it comes to friends, you usually tend to care a little bit more…
